As a small agency with a full list of authors, we can only occasionally take on exceptional new writers of literary and crime fiction, biography, history, current affairs, popular science, travel, music and general non-fiction.

If you want to submit your work, do have a look through this site; our existing writers’ books are clues to whether your own work is likely to be a good fit. If you think it might be, send the first three chapters and an outline of the rest of your book plus biographical details, by post. We do not accept e-mailed submissions. If we want to see the rest of the manuscript, we will ask you to submit it in hardcopy by post.

All submitted material must be double-spaced, printed on one side of the page only, numbered, and typed or word processed, with clear contact details.

We read every submission made to us, but our obligations are to existing authors. Due to the volume of material submitted, we can only respond to submissions that we can proceed with, so if you haven’t heard from us after 3 months, you should assume that we are not taking your submission further.

Please do not send SAEs as we will recycle all rejected material. Occasionally we have to stop accepting new manuscripts altogether, due to lack of time to read them.
